Zephyrs wins state title
The Camas Prairie Zephyrs Senior Babe Ruth team won the state tournament this past weekend at Grangeville and will advance to regionals this week.
They finished the state tournament with a 3-1 record to win the state title.
They opened the tournament with a 16-1 win over Nampa in 4 innings and followed that with a 13-2 win over Lewiston. 
Cottonwood’s C.J. Rieman pitched the team to victory against Lewiston.
On Saturday they lost to Lewiston 13-17 then defeated Nampa 17-2 in 6 innings.
Both the Zephyrs and Lewiston were 3-1 in double round-robin play with the Zephyrs awarded the championship on run-differential as they outscored Lewiston 26-19 in their two games.
Regionals will be held at Ephrata, Wash. and the Zephyrs have games scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday and 2 games on Saturday.
Rieman is the lone Prairie High School player on this year’s squad with 3 from C.V. and the balance from Grangeville.
