Commissioner visits Chamber meeting
Visiting with the Cottonwood Chamber Aug. 11 was county commissioner Jim Rehder.  He gave an update on some of the items of interest in the county.
He added they have approved four of five subdivision requests.  Other business included the nursing home and the sale to the hospital.  The county now has 15,500 people and two commissioner positions are up for election in 2006.  They are his and Mattson’s.
Rehder also mentioned a $800,000 grant for the Grangeville airport and that Idaho County has 6 national forests in the county.
The annual Christmas parade and supper is set for Sunday, Dec. 18, with the parade at 5 p.m. and supper to follow at 5:30 p.m.  This year the boys basketball and the dance and cheer teams will work together and then split the profits with the boys taking half and the two girls groups splitting the other half.
Some of the new blue banners have gone up around town.
The next meeting is Thursday, Sept. 8, at 8 a.m. at the Coffee Mill Creations on Main Street.
