announces for Assessor
Idaho County resident Ron Funke has announced he will seek election to the position of Idaho County Assessor. Current long-time Assessor, Jim Beckman, will not be seeking re-election as he is retiring at the end of his term. “I am running because I know my job and Idaho County-its people and its property. People count on the assessor to place a fair and equitable value on all properties, to be honest, hardworking, and approachable. These are qualities I possess and believe in. I believe I am a qualified candidate for the position.”
Ron is a life-long resident of Idaho County, currently residing in Grangeville. He has worked full time for the Idaho County Assessor’s office for the past 17 years under Jim Beckman. In addition to his work in the Assessor’s office, Ron is an active partner in his family’s farm in the Ferdinand area. During the season, he can be found working the farm evenings, weekends, and during vacation time. Ron has been involved in his community, currently serving as a 17 year volunteer for the Grangeville Fire Department, is a past president of the Idaho Association of Assessment Personnel, a member of the Grangeville Elks Lodge, and a past member of the Cottonwood Jaycees where he held both local and state offices.
According to Idaho County Treasurer, Sharon Cox, “Ron is a hardworking and honest individual. He will responsibly and diligently serve our county. We can count on him to be here and a valuable asset to the county. He will be fair”.
Ron is running as a Democrat. Terri Tackett will serve as campaign manager and treasurer. For more information, contact Ron Funke at 983-2542 or Terri Tackett at 983-2664.
