82 donate blood
There were 82 donors at our blood drive on Wed April 5. We ended the day with 69 usable units. That is, of course 69 more than we had before we started but we were perplexed why more of you did not remember. We were planning on 100. A few of you did call and cancel. We are going to blame it on the flu bug and hope it is better next time.
We were very happy to give a pin for 7 gallons to Jim Remacle and one for 5 gallons to Mike Nau. Ed Holthaus received one for 3 gallons and Denise Uhlenkott now has her first gallon pin. Congratulations to all.
Seven first timers came. They were Brandon Johnson, Kylie Uhlorn, Carolyn Sonnen and Adeline Lustig, all from the high school. They were joined by Roy Uhlenkott and Greg Uhlenkott. Hooray for the first timers.
And a big hooray and thank you to our volunteers. Merna Gehring. Elaine Schumacher, Eleanore Hinkelman, Helen Huntley, Margaret Stewart, Jane Hoene, Doris Sonnen and Connie Uhlenkott.
Helping us set up and tear down were Don and Mark Tacke, Brandon Johnson, Curt and Andy Terhaar, and Dan and  Anthony Karel.
Thanks, also to The Cottonwood Chronicle and the local churches for publishing the date for us.
Please do remember the next drive July 12 and lets all make it the best one ever.
