Middle School band receives Superior rating
On Wednesday, April 12, the Prairie Middle School Band traveled to Moscow for the District II Music Festival and received a Superior rating.
Twenty bands and seven choirs participated in the annual event. Each group is adjudicated on accuracy of pitch of rhythm, intonation, balance/blend, posture and appearance and overall musical effect. Superior is the highest rating and is awarded to groups who score highly in each of the categories. Prairie Middle School Band, under the direction of Mrs. Kathy Stefani, performed Armed Forces March, Queenwood Overture and The Tempest. All three pieces will be featured at their Spring concert on Monday, May 22 at 7 p.m. in the PMS gym. There are 27 members of the concert band, all seventh and eighth grade. The 6th grade Concert Band will perform at District II Elementary Festival on Wednesday, May 17 in Lewiston.
