Conner Frei fundraisers
Several fundraisers are planned in coming weeks for an 8-month-old Lewiston boy with an immune system disease.
Conner Frei, son of Dennis and Dena Frei, was recently diagnosed with severe combine immunodeficiency disease (like the disease the “boy in the plastic bubble” had.) He has been in Seattle since February awaiting a lifesaving transplant of bone marrow stem cells, but so far a perfect match donor has not been found. Estimated cost for the transplant is more than $50,000.
The disease leaves those who have it susceptible to recurrent infections because of their compromised immune system.
Conner is the grandson of Roger and Bobbi (Wimer) Frei, both former residents of our local area.
Upcoming fundraisers are:
Potato Bar, May 19, Jenifer Jr. High Cafeteria, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. $7.50 each for family of 4 for $25. Also at this time will be a silent auction.
Softball Tournament, June 3-4. Register by May 15. $200 per team, double elimination.
Golf Tournament, June 11, Bryden Canyon Golf Course. $60 per team of 4 plus green fees. Free barbecue afterwards.
There is also an account set up for donations at Potlatch Credit Union under Dennis and Dena Frei’s name for living, travel and medical expenses.
