Reminder about Sports Physicals
For the 11th year St. Mary’s Hospital Clinics will be sponsoring Sports Physicals at three of their clinics.  They will be held Monday, June 5th at the Nezperce Clinic; Wednesday, June 7 at the Cottonwood Clinic and Tuesday, June 13th  at the Kamiah Medical Clinic.  Each clinic will have special hours from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.   No appointments are necessary.Lorraine Nuxoll, RN, reminds students to wear their glasses or contacts and loose fitting shorts and T-shirts for the exams. Students should also bring their immunization records.
“The doctors, nurses and staff donate their time so the kids can fulfill the state requirements,” said Jeanette Gorman, SMH Community Relations Coordinator.  “Although the sports physicals are available at any time through our clinics, we have to charge the regular rate which is considerably more than when we offer the special program.  We donate $15 back to each student’s school if they come during the specially scheduled sports physical times.”
SMH distributed packets to the schools for each student who will be in 7th, 9th or 11th grade.  They contain a flyer with the dates, times and locations; an information sheet; a health consent form and an immunization consent form.  “A parent or legal guardian must fill out and sign both forms.  Immunizations are available at no charge during the scheduled sports physical clinics, but a parent must check which immunization should be administered or none will be given.”
Students should also bring their immunization records.  They should wear loose fitting T-shirts and shorts and wear their glasses or contacts.
