33 teams participate in Relay For Life
The American Cancer Society Clearwater to Salmon Rivers Relay For Life 2006 event was a huge success thanks to all the corporate sponsors, team sponsors, teams, committee chairpersons, and every individual who donated funds and personal time.  We had a great crowd throughout the event who endured very high temperatures but persevered to the end of the Relay.  The planning committee really needs to be commended for all the great work and ideas that went into this year’s event, they have done an awesome job and should be very proud of the events success!  We want to thank our wonderful and inspirational speakers, Linda Gott from Grangeville and Tracey Brown, Miss Idaho 2005 from Post Falls. We had such great live music this year with Wood’N Music, on Friday evening and Gina Bina and Nobody Famous on Saturday morning.  We truly want to thank North Idaho Correctional Institute and the 13 guys they brought who made the work of setting up and tearing down all the canopies and tables and chairs for the event an easy task for the committee.  We really appreciated all your help!  Our team goal this year was to have 29 teams and we surpassed that with 33 teams.  Our event fundraising goal was $52,000 and the total cash donations by the end of the Relay were just under $73,000.  Wow, our communities are truly awesome!!  Thank you so much for helping ACS with their funding in the efforts to finding better treatments and cures for cancer.  We had 84 survivors sign in and walk the survivor lap which was quite a sight to see!  A quilt is being made with all of the pictures and signatures of the survivors and will soon be displayed at our two hospitals and various clinics throughout the next year.  The winners of the trophies and plaques are:
