American Heart Association Updates 1ST Aid/CPR Course
American Heart has updated its Heartsaver First Aid/ CPR course to include the new CPR standards announced last fall. The new standards are designed to simplify CPR for providers and also to simplify the use of automatic external defibulators, or AED’s.
Syringa General Hospital Community Relations offers this course monthly, usually on a Saturday near the end of each month. Currently the classes are scheduled for 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and are taught in the Soltman Center, across the street from the hospital.
Other changes in the course include child and infant CPR taught each course, and splinting, a skill that has not been previously included in the program. AED use has received attention recently as cost of the units have dropped and more are available to the public.
Cost of the course is $45 that includes instruction, course materials, and a two year provider card.
For further information or to enroll for the next scheduled course on August 26th, contact Syringa General Hospital at 983-1700.
