Fun Night kicks off fall bowling season
To welcome all bowlers and promote the fall leagues, Prairie Imperial Bowl invites you to a Fun Night on Wednesday, September 6th.   Free bowling with free pizza, pop, & beer will be available from 6:30 -10:00 pm.  So whenever you get out of the harvest field or off work, come on in and bring your friends!  Leagues are forming, and sign up sheets will be posted.  We have an assortment of leagues to fit all styles of bowlers from serious to not-so-serious, and include two short season leagues.  (There’s even an informal group of retired men who get together on Thursday afternoons and is affectionately known as the “Old Farts League”.)  Lessons are also available by contacting Bob Canup.
Much maintenance work has been done this summer by volunteers to get the lanes, machines, and kitchen area prepared for the busy fall season.  Two of the more temperamental lanes have new solid state components in the chassis.  One goal is to replace the remaining old style chassis with new solid state ones as funds are available throughout the next year. Lots of cleaning has taken place from gutter & ball returns to organizing the extra parts in the back room.
In memory of one of our most stanch bowlers, Elsie Kinzer, the Board of Directors has named the high school scholarship the Elsie Kinzer/Prairie Bowl Memorial Scholarship.  This will be available to area seniors beginning in the spring of 2007, and is funded through donations and special tournaments.
The Board is looking forward to seeing lots of faces, both familiar and new, on Sept. 6th!  For more information, call Jack Roy, 924-5633, or Raina Frei, 924-5891.
