Dean Allen of North Idaho Correctional Institution in Cottonwood and Idaho Correctional Institution – Orofino, has been presented the Feldner Award. This is a lifetime achievement award presented to someone who is recognized by their peers for demonstrated excellence and accomplishments throughout a career.
Allen exemplifies the best at the Idaho Department of Correction. He mentored many staff throughout his 28-year career before retiring from public service in 2004. Dean has since maintained his connection with the department through contracting services with the counseling staff. He continues to stand out as a role model, leader, visionary, and dedicated professional.
The award was presented recently at the 19th annual Idaho Correctional Association (ICA) training conference which was held in Idaho Falls. The event unites staff and administrators from adult and juvenile corrections for learning, networking, and education in offender management techniques. The conference also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Idaho Correctional Association.
