Tree to help Santa again
For the ninth year St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics will sponsor a Christmas ‘Angel Tree’ for low income families in the area. 
Families in need are encouraged to call Sr. Corinne Forsman or Cheri Holthaus at SMHC, 962.3251. They will confidentially record the child’s name, age, gender, clothing sizes and gift requests. Gift requests should not exceed $25. Names will be accepted until December 8th. A number will then be assigned to each child to protect privacy and a paper ornament will be made with the information. The ornaments will be hung on the Angel Tree next to the Chapel entrance for hospital personnel and community ‘elves’ to select. Those generous persons will then purchase the gifts, attach the ornament and return the “unwrapped” presents by Friday, December 15th so families can pick them up on Wednesday, December 20nd from 5:30-8:00 p.m. The ‘Angel Tree’ will be set up over the Thanksgiving holidays so elves and others can select an ornament. SMHC works in conjunction with the Cottonwood Food Bank to also prepare food boxes for the ‘Angel Tree’ families. “Some of our area families are struggling financially. The holidays are often the time when you feel it the most, so our hospital is here to help through the annual Angel Tree project,” said Sr. Corinne, Mission Services Director. “Community residents have been very generous in the past, not only selecting ornaments and purchasing gifts, but we’ve also received financial donations so we could purchase gifts for the ornaments that don’t get picked or so we can buy additional food items for the food boxes.” If you would like to make a financial donation for the Angel Tree Project please send to Sr. Corinne Forsman or Cheri Holthaus” attention c/o St. Mary’s Hospital, 701 Lewiston St., Cottonwood, Idaho. 83522. |
