December Tri-Parish Youth activities
With the month of December comes the joys of a special season. A season where families gather, carols are sung, lights are strung, and a baby’s birth is prepared for and celebrated.
It is here we are called to embrace these sacred moments daily in all that we do and say, therefore I place an invitation to the Tri-Parish Youth to join us in this special season through involvement in this month’s activities.
On December 6th at 7:30 p.m. the Bread of Life Bible study group will meet in Debbie’s office to continue their study on the book of Job. Please read chapters 6 and 7 and be prepared to discuss it.
On Dec. 10th all youth and adults who are involved in planning for ICYC 2007 will meet at St. Mary’s parking lot at 11 a.m. The meeting will be in Moscow at St. Augustine’s Center from 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
On Dec. 11th. Debbie’s Confirmation Class will meet at the Junior High Peace Building at 7 p.m. Read chapter 3, answer questions 15-20, and be prepared to discuss all questions in the chapter.
On Dec. 13th all high school youth who want to participate in the Light Parade are invited to a meeting at the Junior High Peace Building at 7 p.m. We need your help and input!
On Dec. 16th the Junior High Youth will be doing pictures with Santa. They well also be selling ornaments and baked food. Come and get your child’s picture taken with Santa. All proceeds go toward sending the 7th and 8th graders to a rally in Boise in February.
On Dec. 17th we will meet at St. Mary’s parking lot at noon to decorate the float for the Light Parade. You are asked to bring a string of lights. Line up for the parade will be at 4:30 p.m.
On Dec. 18th we have a Peer Ministry meeting at 7 p.m. at Debbie’s office.
On Dec. 20th the High School Youth are invited to a caroling party. Please meet at Debbie’s office at 6:30 p.m. Following caroling we will have chili at the rectory.
On Dec. 27th the Junior High Youth will meet for Bible study at 3 p.m. at the Junior High Peace Building. The study will be led by the Peer Ministers. At 6:30 p.m. that day, the team going to Africa will be hosting the annual alumni game at Prairie Middle School. The women’s game will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the men’s game will follow. If you are a graduate of Prairie High or Summit Academy and would like to join your friends in a game of basketball, here is your opportunity. We will also have a 3-point contest, free throw contest and concessions. Entry fee for players is $5, payable at the door.
On Dec. 30th there will be a Youth Mass at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church. Following the Mass, the High School Youth and college students are invited to the KC Hall for a pizza feed.
As you can see there are many opportunities to enjoy each other’s presence in the spirit of the season. I pray that God our King, keeps you all in His loving arms as we enter into this sacred time of year and that your Christmas is truly filled with peace and joy!
In the spirit of the season,
Tri-Parish Youth Minister
