perfect in first week of trapshoot
The Cottonwood, Nezperce, Grangeville and Kamiah Gun Clubs were the only clubs to score 75 in the first week of the CPTA ten week trap shoot. 18 teams are competing again this year. The same scoring system that has been used for the past several years is being used. Each club reports thier score based on the number of shooters participating that day and averaged based on a perfect 75 total score. The junior team posted a score of 64 lead by Derek Schaeffer 23, Robert Gilmore 21, and Ashley Schaeffer 20. Forty eight shooters turned out on the cold but sunny day to start the annual competition. Rod Sheets, Scott Jungert, Greg Danly, Lowell Mader and Dale Hemerick each posted a 25 straight to give Cottonwood the 5 needed scores. Rod Sheets and Scott Jungert lead AA class with 25’s. Andy Uhlorn, Brad Fischer and Ralph Terhaar posted 24’s In A class Greg Danly and Lowell Mader shot 25’s Jack Fischer 24.Bclass Leaders were Larry Stubbers and Butch Spencer with 23 each and Brian Schaeffer with 22. C class Shaun Riener and Ben Schuster 21 Shawn Kaschmitter 19. D class Derek Schaeffer 23 Jean Spencer 20. We are pleased to welcome 9 new shooters to the club this year new shooters and their scores are Jim Kaschmitter 14, Paul Gilmore 22, Nate Gentry 15, Dale Hemerick 25, New junior shooters Brian Gilmore 19, Robert Gilmore 21, Kyle Brugeman 13, Mitch Jungert 19, Samantha Spencer 16. Handicap Scores in the long yardage class Andy Uhlorn 22 Rod Sheets 19, Medium yardage Ralph Terhaar 22 Rod Behler 21, Short yardage Andy Terhaar, Brian Schaeffer, Gordon Harman and Greg Danly all shot 23. Doubles scores Andy Terhaar and Rod Behler 45, Brad Fischer 44. Continentals were lead by Jesse Duman with 23 with a mechanical break down causing the last squad to cancel and will be made up next week when repairs are completed on the trap. Shooting will begin at 10am each Sunday and the kitchen is open. Everyone is welcome to come out and join us for a day of shooting. Shells are available. Special rates are available for new shooters and junior shooters. |
