Circle of Life tours resume
The St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation is resuming their Circle of Life Tours of their hospital and Cottonwood clinic. The sixty minute tours are scheduled during March, April and May. The public is invited to the free tours conducted by staff and Foundation board members. 
Tours are scheduled for Tuesday, March 13 at 8:00 a.m.; Wednesday, March 14 at 12:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 15 at 5:00 p.m. To make a reservation call SMH, 962-3251. “We’re offering the tours at various times to accommodate every one’s schedules,” said Jim May, SMHC Foundation executive director. “We’ve had such positive feedback from people taking our tours that they will be conducted each year. It’s a congenial atmosphere and most people report that, no matter what, they learn something they didn’t know before.” According to May, the term, ‘Circle of Life’, refers to the complete care offered by St. Mary’s and their clinics from birth through the end of life. Tour participants visit the CT annex, ER, Birthing Suite, Radiology area, the Cottonwood clinic and other areas not normally seen during a typical visit. A staff person from each department describes the services in that area. Refreshments are provided and time is allotted for questions and answers. “I learned a lot not only about what is available locally, but the tour guides also added a national perspective,” said a past tour participant. “Even though I’ve been to visit the clinic a number of times, I never knew about all the technology that’s available. It was really interesting,” said another participant. Other tours will be conducted on April 17th; 18th and May 15th; 16th and 17th. Special arrangements can also be made for businesses, sororities or club members. |
