Hill named Miss Prairie 2007
Kristin Hill was crowned Miss Prairie 2007 at Prairie High School on Tuesday, March 13.  Eleven girls contested for the title. 1st Runner-up was awarded to Katie Nuxoll and the 2nd Runner-up was Michelle Gehring.  The Miss Prairie Pageant top 3 with winner Kristin Hill in the middle.
Awards for the winners were graciously donated by: A-1 Flowers, which supplied bouquets for the top three winners. Additionally Miss Prairie was awarded a pedicure from Terri Duman, owner of The Studio, and a $15.00 cash award, 1st Runner-up was awarded $10.00 gift certificate from the Coffee Mill and $10.00 cash, the 2nd Runner-up was awarded a salon gift bag from  Blue Camas Salon and $5.00 in cash.  The Miss Prairie tiara was donated by Deanna Benton and the winner's sash was sewn by Deanna Benton.
The 11 contestants competed three events - Casual wear, Beach wear and Formal wear.  The top 3 scorers were then selected and competed in the final round which was the Interview Question.  
The Miss Prairie Pageant is the second in a series of  fundraisers which will sponsor workshop fees, room, board and transportation costs for fashion design hopefuls Sienna Benton and Jami Riener from Prairie High School. These girls are working toward attending the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising's college workshop.  The camp is held each summer and is specially designed for high school students interested in pursuing careers in the fashion design industry. Last year Prairie High had one student attend the workshop.
Sienna and Jami send a very sincere thank you to the local business and all individuals who donated prizes and assisted in the organizing and execution which made this pageant a success. A-1 Flowers, The Studio, The Coffee Mill, Blue Camas Salon, Deanna Benton, PHS Counselor Mrs. Deiss, MC - Shelli Schumacher, judges Greg Diess, Terri Duman, Katie Gilberts and Admissions - Nancy Uptmor.
Next on the horizon is the "Mr. Prairie Pageant"  this event is scheduled for Wed. April 18th.
