Lymphodema expert to do presentation
Doris Bevins, PT, a lymphodema expert, will present at a public forum on Monday, July 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the Soltman Center on Main Street.  Bevins is a physical therapist with St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center and has worked with patients who have experienced lymphodema.  Doris Bevins, a physical therapist with St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center and lymphodma expert, will speak at a public forum on Monday, July 30, 10:00 a.m. at the Soltman Center.The presentation is free and open to the public.
Lymphodema is the swelling that can occur after lymph nodes are surgically removed.  Some women who have had breast cancer surgery or anyone who has had lymph nodes removed are at risk for lymphodema.  She will talk about strategies to reduce the side effects and ways to manage the condition.
The presentation is sponsored by St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics in Cottonwood.  “We’re providing the educational session for anyone who is concerned about this condition.  Doris will also be available for questions and discussion,” said Sr. Corinne Forsman, SMHC Mission Integration Director.
