Song Exchange set for Sept. 26
Musician and musicologist Gary Eller of Nampa will lead an exchange of songs of the Snake and Salmon River regions on Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Grangeville Country Club.
This event is part of an Idaho Humanities Council project to collect regional songs that are based on actual people, places and events.
Eller will start the exchange by playing some historically based songs of our region. Then participants will have an opportunity to perform or discuss songs they know about. A freewheeling jam session will conclude the event.
What to bring? Your voice, instruments, songs and song contacts.
For more information contact Irma Tacke, 962-3964 or Scott Scribner, 983-2829.
You can contact Eller at pgaryeller@aol.com or 208-442-8844 or go to the Song Collecting link at http://www.bonafidaho.com.
There will also be a jam session at the Don Tacke home on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. and Eller is also planning a session  for Prairie Elementary School the morning of Sept. 26.
