Chinese painting demonstrated
On, Thursday September, 13th  Debbie Chan, came to Prairie to demonstrate Chinese painting. She is a Buddhist nun formerly from Huston, Texas and now resides in Orofino, Idaho. Debbie shared numerous stories about her life that led her to become a painter. Sonesa Lundmark and Debbie Chan hold up an example of Chinese painting.
While in the classroom she demonstrated Sumi painting techniques, soft stone carving and Chinese Calligraphy. Debbie’s love for wildlife can be seen throughout her art. The students enjoyed her unique character and life experiences. She was an inspiring speaker and many students are excited to learn calligraphy and maybe carve their own ostrich egg someday.
Debbie Chan is shown demonstrating the Chinese painting style.
