Middle School staff awarded $10,000 grant
Prairie Middle School received a $10,000 grant for year three of the Principal Academy of Leadership Project.  Over the past two years staff members have been working hard on using higher level questioning strategies and assessment of all students.  Once during each year, the State Department brings in a team of educators and the staff goes through an observation looking for excellent teaching strategies.
During this third and final year of the program, teachers will attend the Middle Level Conference in Post Falls, Idaho on March 14th.  All teachers will attend this workshop.  The grant provides professional development and money to put toward supplies.  Mr. Blaz, our superintendent will be in the middle school building that day working with the substitutes in the classrooms.  We are fortunate to have this opportunity to have all teachers attend the same workshop and hear the same information.  The guest speakers will talk about teaching to middle level students and provide tips and techniques to help make our experiences successful for all.
