area to open Saturday
Wax those skis and snowboards and gather up the coats, gloves and hats, because the Cottonwood Butte Ski Area will be officially opening December 29th. The runs have been groomed and the lodge is stocked with hot chocolate and other goodies. Barring any disastrous rain or a winter thaw the Butte will be open Saturday. There is 18 inches of snow at the base and 24 inches at the top. The weather is looking favorable for those January dates as well so mark your calendar. Snow permitting the Butte will be open January 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. Editor's note: With 6 inches of new snow in Cottonwood Thursday, Dec. 27 and more predicted for that evening, it looks like a good bet that the ski WILL be opening on Saturday. |
