schedule for youth ministry
Dear Teens in Christ, It's time to take a breath, relax, and enjoy the laid back days of summer by sharing more time with family and friends. It is in this invitation that we will embrace a slower pace in the summer youth ministry schedule. The small groups will not be meeting in June, July, or August but please note that they will resume again in September. We will be doing a few things each month so please check out what opportunities are available and know that we would love it if you would join us. Your presence is always welcome and appreciated! On June 11th the Team for Africa will meet at 7:00 p.m. at the JHPB to finalize plans for the upcoming Haystack feed. All members are asked to be present. On June 20th the TFA will host the annual Haystack feed from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. We will also be taking lunch orders for delivery that day from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Watch the paper for more details. On June 22nd I will be leaving to attend Boston College for 2 weeks. Please pray for me as I work toward my Spiritual Direction Certification. July brings with it an invitation for all High School youth to attend a retreat at St, Gertrude's Monastery. The retreat begins on July 21st and ends on July 25th. If you are interested in attending please contact me as soon as possible. All registration forms are due by June 20th. On July 28th at 10:00 a.m. we will meet in my office to prepare for highway clean-up. All High School and Jr. High youth are invited and encouraged to help. We will follow the clean-up with pizza. On July 30th all High School youth who will be participating in the August 30 Hour Fast are asked to meet at the fire station at 9:00 a.m. We will be hosting a car wash to raise money for Catholic Relief Services and World Vision. More details will follow at a later date. On August 1-2 the High School youth will be participating in a 30 Hour Fast. We will begin the fast at 6:30 at the JHPB. We will end the fast after the 5:00 p.m. mass in Ferdinand. If you are interested in participating and would like more details please call Debbie at 962-7761. On August 11th the Team for Africa will head for Spokane to begin their travels to Tanzania Africa. We will be gone for 2 weeks, returning on August 25th. Please hold us all in your prayers as we embark upon the adventure of a life time.
