Cottonwood teams finish 1st-2nd
This last weekend the Schlader Photography Militec Little League team took second place in the annual tournament which was played at Cottonwood.
We received a writeup from the Militec team. They played five games, winning 3 out of 5.
The beat Nezperce 23-2 and Culdesac 11-9. They then lost to Schlader Photography 2-9, came back to beat Winchester 11-2 and then lost again to Schlader Photography 2-11 in the championship game.
On the season Militec won 9 games, lost 2 and had 1 tie. The three pitchers they had this year were Clark Bruno who struck out 67 of 138 batters faced; Tyler Hankerson who struck out 43 of 120 batters faced and Justin Ross, despite suffering a concussion during the season, struck out 21 of 59 batters faced.
Coach John Mager would like to congratulate the other Cottonwood team, Schlader Photography, on winning the championship. It was nice to see the two Cottonwood teams make it to the championship round. It made for a perfect scenario.

Winning first place at the Little League tournament this past weekend was the Cottonwood team sponsored by Schlader Photography. Standing are coaches Scot Schlader and Bryan Higgins. Team members are Mathew Schwartz, Casey Danly, Rhett Schlader, Jake Bruner, Seth Chaffee, Thomas Schwartz, Kevin Tillinghast, Bryson Higgins, Kyle Tillinghast, Jared Higgins, Brandon Higgins and Clark Hinkelman.

Babe Ruth team takes third
The Cottonwood Babe Ruth League baseball team finished third in the Central Idaho League Tournament held at Cottonwood Saturday, June 21. For their third place finish each player received a medal.
Several individuals also received awards. Devin Schmidt received a 3-year Player Certificate. Devin and Justin Schmidt tied for the CIL Home Run title. Garrett Schmidt was the team batting champion.
Seth Guyer was awarded the prestigious Babe Ruth Sportsmanship Award as the most dedicated team player.
Troy Lorentz, Robert Nau and Kyle Marker were all selected to the District All-Star Team.
