Back Country Medics fly-in to St. Mary's Hospital
Back Country Medics Fly-In and Presentation was held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Back Country Medics flew their helicopter to St. Mary’s Hospital and opened up its doors for photo opportunities and made presentations to the public.  Over 60 children, parents, grandmothers, ants and uncles attended the fly-in and presentation and had their pictures taken sitting in the helicopter wearing the Back Country Medics’ signature ‘Yellow” flight helmets (called lemon heads).
The Back Country Medics specialize in rescuing people from remote areas of North Central Idaho.  They have rescued people in all kinds of weather from all kinds of terrain.  The Back Country Medics are based in Orofino and is one of only a handful of Flight Rescue organizations operating in Idaho.  Each flight team consists of a pilot, EMT and flight nurse and transport patients as far as Boise, Idaho; Missoula, Montana; and Spokane, Washington.
