Students enjoy HOSA nationals
Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) is a student organization whose mission is to promote career opportunities in health care. This year, Prairie HOSA sent five of it’s qualifying members to the National Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX on June 18 - 21.  Over 5,000 students from across the nation, and Puerto Rico attended the four day event.  Besides competing in events, the students were able to have a little fun.  A few of the highlights were:  Lonestar Attitude at the opening ceremonies, JFK Memorial, and Six Flags. It was awesome getting to meet so many kids from across the country that have a common interest in health care.
We would like to thank everyone who helped make our fundraising efforts successful.  Cash & Carry for letting us have a Hot Dog Sale and donating all of the supplies, St. Mary’s Hospital & Clinic for supporting our baked goods sales, and everyone in the community who supported our yard sale at the park. Thanks also to the Booster Club for the cash donation for meals and everyone who made individual donations.
We are looking forward to the 2008-2009 year.  HOSA members had over 180 hours of community service this past year.  If you have a service project for HOSA, please contact advisor Sheri Daly at:  208-962-3907.
