The Team for Africa Blessed by Many
The Team for Africa arrived home safely on August 26th.  We were tired, but refreshed because of all that we had done, seen, and experienced.  Our time away taught us many things as we encountered a world apart, yet like our own.  The food, the reptiles, the mosquitoes, the poverty, the simplicity all challenged us to look beyond what we knew.  The familiarity that brought this new world alive for all of us was the hospitality and love so present everywhere we went.  The African people made us feel at home.  They said, “A visitor is a blessing” and they truly acted upon and lived out these powerful words.  We became their family thousands of miles away from our home.  Their example of love helped us to see how courage was lived out daily and how it became the key to their very survival.  There was so much to take in and think about during our 2-week stay.  We have so much to share!  What a blessing.  What a joy.  What an adventure.  We will be hosting an African celebration to thank the community and parishes for all the support we’ve received over the last 3 years.  This celebration will take place in the Sacred Heart Room at St. Mary’s Church on Nov. 2nd from 1:00p.m.-4:00 p.m.  Please watch the bulletin and paper for more details.  Again, thank you for your support and know without a doubt that your help has changed our world and lives forever!  Together we are making a difference as a community and church!  Please note the date for the “Back to School Bash” has been moved from Oct. 4th to Oct. 18th.  Mark your calendars.  More details to follow!
