Respite care training offered
There will be a free training session Oct. 11 in Grangeville for Respite Care Providers.
Respite care is provided by a person who helps care for children with challenging behaviors while their parents, guardians or families gain rest, relief and rejuvenation.
What will you learn from training? You will learn what respite is; safety, communication skills, challenging behaviors, strategies, how to manage a crisis plan and compensation.
Respite care is vital for families with special challenges; reduces stress on the entire family and revitalizes families while building stronger communities.
The training will be in Grangeville, Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Soltman Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
You can call Elaine Sonnen at 962-3874 to register for the class or Kathy Workman at 983-2300 or Tammy Everson at 983-0235.
If you are interested in becoming a trainer, please let them know and plan to attend one of these trainings.
