Cottonwood man killed in rollover accident
Logan A. Lustig, 20, of Cottonwood died early Sunday, Nov. 9, in a single vehicle rollover accident on Ferdinand Butte Road according to Idaho County Sheriff Sgt. Herb Lindsey.
According to a report from the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Lustig and Kelsie A. Duclos, 19, of Lewiston were passengers in a 2000 Ford F-350 pickup driven by Cory D. Lustig, 24, of Cottonwood.
Cory Lustig and Duclos were both injured and taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital in Cottonwood.
ICSO Sgt. Herb Lindsey reported the accident happened shortly after midnight on a curve in the road and that excess speed and alcohol appear to be factors. He said the driver appeared to have rounded a curve, lost control, ran off the road and overcorrected, came partially back on the road and overturned at least twice. It came to rest on its top on top of Logan Lustig who had been ejected during the rollover. Cory Lustig was also ejected during the rollover and Duclos wound up trapped inside and was extricated by the Cottonwood Volunteer Fire Department.
The driver’s side airbag deployed but apparently seat belts were not used.
