SMHC Foundation to offere high school wellness nights
The St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation will offer a wellness night at each area high school during one of their January basketball games.  The program encourages students and parents to make healthy lifestyle choices.  This is the third year Foundation board members and Development Director, Jim May, will set up a wellness booth and distribute health related materials.
“At half time we have an audience drawing for three healthy lifestyle prizes.  We also present $100 to each school to help promote wellness programs for the students,” said May.  “This year we’re also giving each principal 50 soft miniature basketballs.  They can be used as stress reducers.”
The dates for this year’s SMHC Foundation Wellness Nights are January 8 at Kamiah High School; January 10th at Clearwater Valley High School in Koosia; January 13th at Highland High School in Craigmont; January 27th at Nezperce High School and on January 29th at Prairie High School in Carigmont.
“We plan to continue the high school Wellness Nights as a way of being involved in the communities we serve,” said May.  “It gives us an opportunity to meet people, have fun and, hopefully, educate them just a bit.  Everyone is welcome to visit our displays and take materials for themselves and their friends.”
