Robot article goes national
The March 28th Lewiston Morning Tribune article about the RP-7 robots at St. Mary’s and Clearwater Valley Hospitals was picked up and appeared in USA Today on Saturday, April 4th.  The article, written by reporter Kathy Hedberg, describes how the robots are assisting the family practice physicians and nursing staff by providing access to specialists located in larger cities.
The two hospitals have formed a partnership with St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise through a SARMC grant.  Currently the robots are being used in the surgery suites at both facilities to further train OR nurses.  They are also being used for patients with mental health issues.  Boise based psychiatrists can consult with the local family practice physicians and also provide counseling to local patients.  Other telehealth opportunities such as ER consults and pharmaceutical programs are under consideration.
