Hospital plan public seminars
St. Mary’s and Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinics are planning public Estate Planning Seminars in the near future.  The goal of each facility is to establish a one million dollar endowment fund by the year 2012.Jim May, CVHC/SMHC Development Director, will host upcoming Estate Planning Seminars to provide information on charitable giving.
“Each hospital can then use the interest from that fund to help purchase necessary equipment and make capital improvements to ensure health care in this region for our children and grandchildren,” said Jim May, CVHC/SMHC Development Director.  “Estate Planning is only one aspect of a comprehensive planned giving program adopted by both facilities.”
On May 7th Jim May will be meeting with local banking representatives and financial advisors to describe the program and train them to work with their customers who may be interested in including either hospital in their long term financial planning.  “Awhile back we had two individuals who named one of the hospitals in their will. Their generosity helped us immensely,” said May.
The seminars planned for May 7th will explore the many charitable trust and annuity gifts that save the donor money through reduced taxes while still benefiting the non profit hospitals.  The public seminars will be scheduled in the near future.  They will provide information on charitable giving of in kind and financial gifts.  For further information contact Jim May, 208.476-8052 or 962-8052.
“These are tough financial times for many people, but our hospitals and clinics must be very inventive in continually expanding their financial resources through payment for services, grants and charitable giving,” concluded May.  “Our goal is to include the public in ensuring quality health care right here in our own communities for years to come.”
