Coppernoll named volunteer of the month
Prairie Community Library Board has chosen Aleta Coppernoll as Volunteer of the Month of June.  Aleta Coppernoll, shown with her son Matt, has been named Prairie Community Library’s Volunteer of the Month for June. She and her husband, Keith, own Country Cabins.
Aleta has been Summer Reading Coordinator for 4 years.  She does a great job of this. She has it well organized with the help of other volunteers.  “I love to read to the kids and have them read to me,” Aleta says.  “Kids who read do so much better in school.  Reading together promotes family unity.”
Aleta would like to see more people volunteer at the library so we could be open more hours.  She would also like to see more retired people use the library when it becomes more accessable.
Aleta invites everyone to make an investment in our children by sharing your talents or helping with crafts during summer reading.  The dates for summer reading are all Thursdays in July except for July 2nd.  So Summer Reading will be from 1:30pm to 3:00pm July 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th. Mark these dates on your calendar and bring your children for an enjoyable learning experience.  The theme this year is “Be Creative.”
Also mark November 14 on your calendar.  That’s the date for sausage tasting as well as other foods.  More details to come but we assure you it will be a great time to celebrate our German heritage.
