Secrest's team wins golf scramble
The St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics Foundation 10th Annual Golf Scramble on July 26th  at the  Grangeville golf course hosted 11 teams and 43 golfers.  Dr. Jack Secrest’s team took first place with a combined score of 60, followed closely by a tie for second between Tom Jacobs’ team and Ed Eckert’s Team both with scores of 63.The first place team at the SMHC Foundation Golf Scramble were (l-r) Pat Hylton, Kenneth Green, Charley Walker and Dr. Jack Secrest, Team Captain.
“More teams participated this year than in the prior four years and participants came from a broader geographical area,” said Jim May, SMHC Development Director and Tourney organizer.  “We certainly appreciate the participation of Lewiston Orthopaedic Associates.  Not only were they hole sponsors, but they also sent a team to play.  Our communities and local businesses are always very supportive of our events.”
Other sponsors included Essentia Community Hospitals and Clinics, Duluth, Minnesota; Pacific Cabinets and Heart Clinics Northwest.  Donors included Lindsley Home Furnishings,: Farmers Insurance; Tri Builders; Seubert Excavators, Inc; Pathologists Regional Laboratory; Fred’s Body Shop; and Ernie and Mary Jennings.
According to May, the winning team generously donated their $300 winnings back to the SMHC Foundation.  Prizes for the scramble were donated by Arnzen Drugs; Camas Fitnes Club; Cedar Creek Creations; St. Mary’s Hospital Dietary Department; US Bank and Wells Fargo Bank.
“Everyone had a great time both during the scramble and afterwards at the dinner.  Every golfer was encouraged to invite a guest for dinner so we had a wonderful time distributing the prizes and.  It’s a really fun way to help guarantee health care for the future,” said May.
