February Mardi Gras planning underway
As soon as you purchase your 2010 calendar remember to mark Saturday, February 6th for the St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics Foundation First Annual Mardi Gras:  A Celebration of Community. The St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation is planning a February 6th Mardi Gras fund and friendraiser in the Cottonwood Community Center.  Planning the event are Chinh Ostrander, Shelli Schumacher, Cheri Holthaus, Jim May and Misty Johnson.  Not pictured is Stephanie Forsman.
The fund and friendraising event will be held at the Cottonwood Community Center.  The evening will begin with a social hour followed by a nice dinner with light entertainment plus a silent and oral auction.  After dinner the Funny Money Casino will open for business with volunteer dealers and hosts.  For those interested in dancing, an experienced DJ will play your favorite tunes until just past midnight.
“This should be an evening of fun for all the communities we serve.   One of our goals, of course, is to raise funds for our hospital and clinics, but, first and foremost, we view it as an opportunity to thank the community for their support through the years.  The current facility first opened their doors 45 years ago in 1964.  We’d like to celebrate our partnership with the community by planning this gala event and making it an annual affair,” said Jim May, SMHC Development Director.
Members of the planning committee include May, Cheri Holthaus, Chinh Ostrander, Stephanie Forsman, Misty Johnson and Shelli Schumacher.  Anyone with any questions or ideas can call Jim May, 962-8052 or Cheri  Holthaus, 962-2327.
