Food drive planned
Prairie High Schools H.O.S.A (Health Occupations Students of America) and Saint Mary’s Hospital are sponsoring a community food drive this month.  The need for food items has been particularly large this year due to the economic situation and during this time of the year the food bank becomes used frequently.  Boxes have been placed at all three schools.  Please help to support this effort by having your student bring canned goods / non perishable food items.  All of the food supplied will go to the local food bank in town.  Food will be collected from October 19th through the 29th.  Thanks for your support of those in need!

Hat and mitten drive planned
High school student volunteers will be collecting hats and mittens for the Christmas baskets Halloween evening between 6:00 and 8:00pm.  We will be accepting new or slightly used scarves, children and adult mittens and hats.  Collection boxes will also be available in the secretary’s offices in all three schools.  For more information, call Lydia Deiss at 962-3901.
