Leah Prigge named PHS ROCKS facilitator
The Prairie Faith Formation Program is very excited to announce that Leah Prigge is the new Prairie High School ROCKS facilitator.
As mentioned in last week’s Chronicle, Prairie ROCKS (Real Outside Catholic Knowledge and Studies) is a new curriculum being implemented during the Thursday and Friday sessions of “Released Time.”  Our intention is to bring in a “real” individual from our community each Thursday and have them participate in a faith-based conversation with Leah and the students.  Our hope is that, in making Prairie ROCKS a part of the high school curriculum, a permanent seed will be planted in each of our students so that, when they leave Prairie, they will be able to apply their faith in their own “real-life” scenarios.  Leah brings to the program a solid understanding of the Catholic Church and its teachings, an enthusiasm for her faith, experience working with high school students, and strong ties to the community here on the prairie.  She is a dynamic and energetic member of the Tri-Parish and poses as the ideal candidate to initiate this program.  She will begin her work at the high school this Thursday.  The success of the ROCKS program greatly depends on the involvement and participation of members from our community.  Once again, we ask that you search your mind and heart, and if you feel you have a story that you would like to share in a 30-minute question-and-answer forum with some of the finest young Catholics on the prairie, please call Pat Schmidt at 962-3214 or Leah Prigge at 962-2357.
