Wilson to be honored
The University of Idaho Alumni Association will honor 56 senior-level undergraduate, graduate and law students with the Award for Excellence at a banquet, Friday, Dec. 11, on the Moscow campus.
Kelby Wilson of Cottonwood, a mechanical engineering and pre-med major, is one of those students to be honored.
The outstanding students were selected through a university-wide nomination and review process. They were considered for the award for their outstanding academic success, demonstrated career and professional preparation, and involvement and leadership in the campus and community.
“We are pleased to continue our tradition of honoring the high-achieving students at the University of Idaho who are leaders in the classroom, laboratory, campus and community,” said Steve Johnson, executive director of Alumni Relations. “Very soon, these students will step forward to become leaders in their professions throughout the state and around the nation.”
Each student also is asked to invite a guest to the banquet: a University of Idaho faculty or staff member who has most influenced his or her academic career. Wilson invited Steve Janowiak, assistant dean of students.
The banquet in the Student Union Building Ballroom begins at 5 p.m. with a social and is followed at 6 p.m. with the dinner and awards ceremony.
