The snow this past week was a reminder that hitting the slopes is on the horizon. The Cottonwood Butte Ski Area is once again gearing up for an outstanding season. It seems to take Mother Nature a little while to get started, but last year went well into the spring and this year is looking like it will be another record setting year. With Christmas around the corner consider getting that slope enthusiast a gift certificate or punch card, by calling Loretta Riener at 962-5938. The forecast has every indication of allowing CBSA to reach its target opening date of December 26th. Snow allowing, the hill will be open December 26th, 27th, 28th, 30th and January 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Prices will remain the same as last year and as always ski and snowboard rentals are available. This year's rental shop has obtained new snowboards, skis and boots, so be the first to take the equipment for a spin. If you are an adult and would like to volunteer in trade for skiing or are 16 years and older and would like to be a lift operator, please give Bobbi Tidwell a call at 962-5938.
