Youth Sports signups are set
Cottonwood Youth Sports (CYS) invites a parent/guardian to sign up their children for the summer baseball/softball programs.
Come to the Prairie Elementary School cafeteria at 7 p.m. on either Sunday, March 21 or Wednesday, march 24.
Cost per child has remained the same as last year at $15 for T-Ball, $20 for Rookie League, $30 for Girls Junior and Senior Softball and for Little League and $40 for Babe Ruth.
First-time Babe Ruth and Girls Senior Softball players need a COPY of their Birth Certificate.
The sign-up form has a section whey you can volunteer your special talents for: Coaching, Assistant Coaching, umpire, field work team phone-calling, or CYS Board of Directors. Your assigned date for mandatory concession duty can be waived for a fee of $10 per child.
You are welcome to bring any used equipment to donate, trade or sell. For more information call Frank Bruno at 962-5339 or Scot Schlader at 962-8699.

Two perfect 25's in final week of shoot
We had 46 shooters which was surprising for the weather.  The skies were overcast, the wind was chilling and the fog was low as we started off the day.
Surprisingly, the clouds lifted, the sun came out and the wind settled.  The Cottonwood Club had a 73.2 for score today.
Andy Uhlorn and Ralph Terhaar had the two 25's with Nate Gentry, Rod Sheets, Darrel Uhlorn and Mitch Jungert shooting 24's.
The Juniors had a decent day as well with Mitch Jungert of course shooting a 24 as well as Jake Rowland.  Derek Schaeffer, Brandon Poxleitner and Sam Spencer shooting 23's.  Thanks to all for a great turnout this year... and don't forget the Gun Club Banquet on April 17th with the meeting starting at 6pm.
We are having a Silent Auction again this year...so bring a donation to help support your local gun club.

Baerlocher re-signs
The Kalamazoo Kings of Kalamazoo Michigan have re-signed bullpen anchor Dan Baerlocher for the 2010 season.
Dan finished 2009 second on the team in wins with eight, posted a sterling 2.44 ERA, stuck out 38 batters in 40 innings, held batters to a miniscule .198 average and was named to the All-Star Team.
He is spending his off season as a pitching instructor at The Hitter's Edge, a state of the art indoor practice facility located in Sturgis, MI.
Baerlocher is the son of Joe and Arlene Baerlocher of Greencreek and is a 2002 graduate of Prairie High School.
He also played college baseball for Walla Walla Community College and Northwest Nazarene College, graduating from NNU in 2007.
