Tri-Parish youth activities for May
Dear Tri-Parish youth,
As the school year winds down and the realization of summer calls us forth we invite you to join us as we celebrate the blessings of May through our youth activities and gatherings.
On May 1st (weather permitting) the Tijuana mission team will host a car wash at the fire station from 10:30 a.m. to 5 :00 p.m. All proceeds go toward our trip in June. We appreciate your support.
On May 3rd the High School Faith Formation Program class will be heading to Lewiston to help at the Lewiston soup kitchen. This action is a result of a Lenten pledge to raise money for this cause as well as spend some time serving when needed.
On May 5th at 7:00 p.m. the Theology of the Body small group will meet in Debbie's office. Pizza will be provided at 6:30. Everyone is welcome.
On May 10th we have Adoration at 10:00 at St. Mary's. All High School youth are invited and encouraged to attend.
On May 10th at 7:00 p.m. we will have a meeting in Debbie's office for anyone interested in attending or helping to plan for World Youth Day 2011 in Madrid Spain. I need to know who may be interested in this amazing opportunity. Please remember this is open to adults as well as youth. We can make this happen with your help! Your input and ideas are really needed.
On May 12th at 7:00 p.m. the adult ministry team will meet at the JHPB to review this years process and begin planning for next year. All team members are asked to be present!
On May 16th at 8:00 a.m. all youth and their parents are invited to the Graduation Mass for P.H.S. and Summit Academy. The Liturgy will be at St. Mary's and all graduates are asked to be present at 7:40 to line up. Please wear your graduation gown. We will havea reception in the Sacred Heart room following the service. Everyone is invited to celebrate the successes and rejoice in the accomplishments of these young men and women from our parishes.
On May 18th I will be hosting the North Central Deanary youth ministers for our monthly meeting. Please pray for us as we gather to plan our upcoming deanary events.
On May 26th everyone is invited to an ice cream social and Bingo night at Bonnie's new place, "The Bent Fork Station" . This great event will go from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. The cost is $5.00 for ice cream. Let’s begin the summer the right way with a bowl of ice cream, good friends, and a game of Bingo! Sounds fun? We'll see you there!
On June 2nd the Peer Ministers will host their final session of REACH. We will be bowling at the Imperial Bowl in Craigmont from 6:30 to 8:30. All High School and Jr. High youth are invited. We will meet at the JHPB at 5:00 and leave for Craigmont at 6:00 p.m. Please bring $10.00 to cover your bowling and food. Parents are invited too. All youth need to pick up permission slips prior to attending. You can pick them up from the parish office, Debbie's office, or from a Jr. High or High School Faith Formation teacher.
Please note that all small group activities and REACH sessions will be finished in May and resume in Sept. Thank you all for a wonderful school year! We have so much to be thankful for as we gather in Christ's name. God bless you and keep you safe during your summer season.
In Christ's service,
Debbie Chicane
