Golf Scramble winners
This was the first Knight of Columbus Golf Scramble Tournament. The event was June 5th. The name of the event, also see attached the flyer, was “On a Swing and a Prayer”. We had a great turnout with 52 golfers enjoying the great weather we had that day. There was 20 sponsoring businesses and a great turnout of volunteers to make the event a success. The proceeds from the event supported Local Pregnancy Centers, Supply of Wheel Chairs for those in need, Education for the Tri Parish, The Knights of Columbus, and the Special Olympics.
The big event was the Hole in One Contest. We gave three people to opportunity to shoot for $1 Million Dollars for a hole in one shot. The aprox. yardage was 170 yards. One of the ways to qualify for the $1 million dollar shot was to guess the correct number of tees in the jar, won by Carson Schmidt who’s proxy was Dan Lustig, who shot later that day. The other way to win a shot for the $1 Million dollars was to shoot a 100 yard shot and be closest to the pin. The closest was Ned Waters with 46 inches and Jim Chemelick 2nd with 47 ½ inches, they both took the shots later on in the day for the $1 Million dollars. Unfortunately there was no winner but it was fun to see the three people take the shot.
The other event winners were Closest to the pin during the tournament, won by Live Wire Electric, Kenny and Karie Geis. Marty Willis won the longest putt with a distance of 32’, he is in the winners photo. The other winner was Bryan Higgins for the longest drive, also on the winning team.
The winner of the event for $500 was Mark Vanderwall, Bryan Higgins, Marty Willis, and Darrel Berry. The Main Event Sponsor was Brett Uhlenkott Well Drilling.
