Expansion planned at Grangeville PT Clinic
St. Mary’s Hospital plans to expand the Grangeville Physical Therapy Clinic site to include medical services beginning later this summer.  Dr Jeremy Ostrander, Dr. Andrew Gilbert and Megan Wilson, FNP, PNP discuss expansion of services in Grangeville with Gary McEwen, PT, Grangeville Physical TherapyThe provider based clinic will be open five days per week and initially be staffed three days with SMH health care providers, Dr. Jeremy Ostrander, Dr. Andrew Gilbert and Meagan Wilson, Family Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Other health related services will be provided the remaining two days including regular diabetes counseling appointments, complementary health services such as massage therapy and a phlebotomist for blood draws.  A receptionist will be available five days per week to schedule appointments and answer non medical questions.
Dr. Marc Farnworth will join the rotation of health care providers at the SMH Grangeville Medical Clinic after he joins the SMHC staff next summer.  He is currently completing his residency in the Idaho State University Family Medicine program where he serves as Chief Resident.  His medical degree is from the University of Michigan Medical School.
“We’re really excited about having Dr. Farnworth join our medical staff.  He completed a rotation at St. Mary’s last year and our patients and staff were so impressed with his technical and interpersonal skills we were extremely happy when he selected St Mary’s to establish his practice,” said Dr. Gilbert, SMHC Chief Medical Officer.  “Dr Farnworth will also help staff our other satellite clinics so our patients will continue to have accessible health care when they need it.”
The SMH Grangeville Medical and Physical Therapy Clinic is located at 617 West North Street.  The medical clinic will be situated in the area formerly occupied by Drs Jim and Michelle Gardener and physical therapy services will occupy the other half of the site.  SMHC has owned the building since the 1990s.
“Our patients in the Grangeville, White Bird, Riggins, Elk City and other outlying areas have continually asked us to provide medical services closer to their homes.  Initially, we’ll have one provider in the clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays plus the necessary support staff.  Our providers will admit to St. Mary’s Hospital if they require inpatient care,” said Dr. Gilbert.  “We also have medical clinics in Cottonwood, Nezperce, Kamiah and Craigmont and PT clinics in Grangeville and Kamiah. Patients appreciate the convenience of having their doctor close to where they live which means a shorter drive and less time.”
According to Gilbert, the Grangeville building located at 617 W. North Street does not require much renovation.  The IT staff is upgrading the building to accommodate new technology.  New furniture, exam tables and medical equipment have been ordered.
