Blood drive set for July 20
Come in to donate blood and enter to win a laptop computer or tickets to see Tim McGraw in concert on July 29th at the Idaho Center in Nampa.  All presenting donors are eligible to win.  The drawings will be held July 26th for the tickets and August 2nd for the laptop.
Summer is a challenging time for blood collections, but the demand for blood doesn’t take a vacation.  Help assure that blood is available when people need it.  Call Brenda Kaschmitter at 962-3251 or Cheri Holthaus at 962-2327 to make an appointment to donate blood at our upcoming blood drive; July 20th from noon to 6:00.  Valid identification is required for all blood donations.  Any healthy person age 17 or older and weighing at least 110 pounds may be eligible to donate blood.
Also, over the past several months, the supply of type O negative blood at the American Red Cross has dropped to critically low levels. If you are a type O negative donor or know of others with this blood type, please help spread the word about the current need.  You can help make the difference between an adequate blood supply and a summer shortage.
Type O negative blood is always in high demand because it can be transfused to patients with any blood type, especially in emergency situations. While all blood types are needed during the critical summer months, the Red Cross urges those eligible donors with blood type O negative to make and keep appointments to give blood this summer.
