District 2 wheat commissioner sought
The Idaho Grain Producers Association (IGPA) is seeking applications from area wheat growers to serve a 3-year position of District 2 commissioner on the Idaho Wheat Commission (IWC).
The IWC is a quasi-state agency established by the IGPA in 1958.  Its mission is to create and maintain domestic and foreign markets, invest producer funds in critical research areas, and to provide information and education beneficial to the Idaho wheat grower.
District 2 of the Commission comprises the counties of Nez Perce, Lewis, Clearwater, Idaho, Adams, Valley, Washington, Payette, Gem, and Boise.  Eligible applicants must reside and farm in one of these counties.
Nominees must submit an application by Aug. 4, 2010 through their respective county grain grower organization affiliated with the IGPA.
Applications should include a brief cover letter and one-page resume outlining the candidate’s background, qualifications, reasons for seeking the position and any letters of support and endorsement.
Applications received by the county grower organizations will be reviewed by the IGPA and three qualified candidates will be provided to the Governor.  The Governor will then make the final appointment.
