Mission Services Director named
Sr. Janet Barnard recently joined the Clearwater Valley and St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics staff as Mission Integration Coordinator. She replaces Sr. Corinne Forsman who is now Director of the Inn at the Monasteryof St. Gertrude. 
Sr. Janet earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Idaho State University. She has worked at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, Tri State Hospital and at the Gritman Family Birth Center in Moscow. She has also served as the Director of the Infirmary at the Monastery of St. Gertrude and as a maternal and child outreach nurse for Nezperce Tribal Health. Her experience also includes serving on the Board of Directors for St. Benedicts Family Medical Center in Jerome for ten years. Sr. Janet has completed some course work towards a Masters Degree in Spirituality and Pastoral Ministry at Gonzaga University. As Mission Services Coordinator she will be involved with the Mission Integration committees to help coordinate their annual school back pack program for needy students, the Christmas giving trees and the CVHC patient emergency fund. She will also coordinate the volunteer chaplains at CVHC and with the staff chaplain at SMHC. She will coordinate the SMHC ethics committee and initiate one at CVHC. In addition, Sr. Janet will work with the Kamiah, Orofino and Cottonwood No One Shall Die Alone chapters. “I am looking forward to my responsibilities at both facilities. I’ve already met a large number of employees as I work with staff on their action plans from the employee engagement survey,” said Sr. Janet. “I am comfortable in healing environments and am sure I’ll enjoy being with the staff and with the patients in the communities we serve.” Sr. Janet’s outside interests include recycling, knitting, therapeutic touch and essential oils and social networking.
