Art students learn to throw pots
By Kendra Dinning
Prairie High School art students’ received a wonderful experience during the first full week of school, when Ed Brannan came to teach them how to throw pots on the wheel.
Teaching pottery for over thirty years at a junior college in Auburn Washington, Ed is a master teacher.  We just moved into our new art room which is set up better for ceramics than the old room. Ed gave us advice about hooking up the kiln, and how to make the equipment work better.
“It was wonderful to have him here. We all learned so much from him,” said Mrs. Lundmark, “He even brought us a box of used tools from his ceramics department where he teaches, but most importantly he taught the students how to make pots and he got them excited about it.”  We, Prairie High School, would like to extend a special thank you to Ed, for not only showing us how to throw pots, but also for donating his time.
