Democratic dinner set for Greencreek
The 4th Greencreek dinner and fund raiser will be held Oct. 2, sponsored by the Idaho County Democratic Party.  This election year event will give area Democrats an opportunity to socialize and meet candidates at the Greencreek Community Hall.
According to Leta Strauss, ICDP chairwoman, the Greencreek dinner was a popular venue in the 1960’s and ‘70’s when Democrats enjoyed a strong membership throughout Idaho County.  Party notables, such as Frank Church and Cecil Andrus, launched their campaigns at Greencreek.  “When local Democrats reorganized in 2004, we immediately embraced the idea of resurrecting the Greencreek dinner and each event has been a huge success and a lot of fun” said Strauss.  “Typically, it is attended by about 160 people” she added.
Keith Allred, gubernatorial candidate, will attend, in addition to other county and state nominees.
The no-host social hour will begin at 5:00 p.m..  Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m., featuring pork tenderloin, harvest vegetables and strawberry shortcake.  There will also be a selection of vegetarian dishes.  To reduce the “carbon footprint”, local produce from area gardens will be used.
Before and following the dinner, guests may peruse the many silent auction items.  There will be a raffle and door prizes.  Entertainment will be provided by soloist Sally Rehder, guitarists Rick Weholt and Gordon Tally, plus a selection by the Bagettes.
Tickets are $20/person.  Seating is limited so reservations should be made by calling Janice Ingrham at 983-0616.
