Second in Healthy Horizons series offered
The St. Mary’s Hospital Cottonwood clinic is hosting the second in their ongoing Healthy Horizons series Planners for the SMHC Healthy Horizons programs (l-r) Becky Ewing, RN, CDE, in Cottonwood; Kevin Conger, DTR in Kamiah and Vicki Berg, RN, CDE, in Grangeville.  The second session will be held at the Cottonwood Medical Clinic next Tuesday, October 26.designed for people interested in making healthy lifestyle choices and managing their weight.  The session will be held Tuesday, October 26 at 5:30 p.m.  Interested people can drop into the program at any time.  Participants are asked to pay $10 at their first session and $5.00 for any subsequent session.
The topic, Choosing a Method, scheduled for next Tuesday will include information on the plate method, calorie counting or choosing foods.  The facilitator for the Cottonwood sessions is Becky Ewing, RN, and Certified Diabetes Educator.  The program is also being offered in Grangeville and Kamiah.
The sessions are being held every other Tuesday.  They begin with a confidential weigh in followed by a 30 minute educational and support session. No pre-registration is necessary.  Topics for future sessions include portion control, exercise, label reading and cooking for the holidays.
