ROCKS! update
Last week the following question was posed to the students: “Do you think you may have a vocation to the priesthood or religious life?” All students replied with the answer of “NO! Never!” However, two students have relatives who became priests much to each family’s amazement! This week we are watching the conversion story of a Catholic priest named Donald Calloway, called “No Turning Back.” As a young man, Fr. Calloway was not a Christian and led a life filled with drinking, drugs, partying and eventually stealing in order to maintain his life of bad habits. After an amazing conversion experience, he completely turned his life around and became a dedicated Catholic priest. The story of this rebel turned priest will lend itself to a follow-up discussion with the students not only about vocations to the religious life, but also to the fact that each and every one of us is called to holiness and must battle all tendencies toward individualism. This is especially an important focus as our Tri-parish community promotes the Bishop’s pastoral plan of leading Christ-centered lives. |
