Girl Scouts earn badges
At their Monday meeting girls in Troop 3785 were given badges and pins they have earned.
All ten girls received a cookie pin for participating in this year’s cookie sale. Our Senior Girl Scout, Martina Everson, received a Rededication patch and a Child Care patch for her completed interest project. She is now working on Bridging to the next level in Girls Scouts, which will make her an Ambassador Girl Scout.
The Brownie group, which includes Halle Klapprich, Rachael Gimmeson, Madison Shears, Ciara Chaffee and Lee Lightfield all received the Brownie Girl Scout pin. Along with the pin they received Try-Its they have earned which include the following: Girl Scout Way, Caring & Sharing, Cookies Count, Friends are Fun, Working It Out and Travel Right. One Brownie Girl Scout, Ciara Chaffee, is working on Bridging to the next level to be a Junior Girl Scout.
Out four Daisy Scouts, which includes Olivia Klapprich, Anna Everson, Josie Remacle and Trinity Martinez, each received their Daisy Girl Scout pin. They have been working on learning the Girl Scout Promise and Girl Scout Law. The girls earn badges that make a Daisy flower which includes a blue center and different colored petals. First they earned the blue center for learning the Girl Scout Promise. Next they learned about the different parts of the Girl Scout Law. The parts they have learned so far are: how to be honest & fair, friendly & helpful, considerate & caring, courageous & strong, responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself & others. They received six petals for learning those six parts of the Promise and they have four more to go. All four girls will be Bridging up to the Brownie level in the fall.
The girls have a few more badges and projects to finish during this next month. We are hoping for nice weather to complete some outside activities. During the summer we plan to do a back yard campout and attend Silverwood. Our troop is always looking for more girls interested in joining. The next Girl Scout year starts in the fall so we will have more information out at that time.
